YANGON (Reuters) - At least 38 people died when their ferry sank in a river in Myanmar’s cyclone-hit IrrawaddyDelta, official newspapers reported on Friday.
At least 38 people have died when a motorized ferry sank in a river of Burma's cyclone-battered IrrawaddyDelta. A state-run newspaper reported Friday that the ship, with 82 people on board, went down in the Yway river on Tuesday after water entered its stern section. It did not say exactly how the accident occurred but added that the remaining 44 people were rescued. The Delta was largely devastated...
