The Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) and the Civil Defense service on Sunday began putting out forest fires near the outskirts of several villages in Mount Lebanon. The fires were threatening the villages of Sarfand, Hajat, Jinsnaya, Hariss al-Jnoub, Faghal, Qabeet and Qamatiyeh and have thus far burnt 17 hectares of forested land in the area, said a LAF report.

Tucked away on a winding road, Lebanon's silk museum resides in the sleepy town of Bsous, near Wadi Chahrour. The Bsous Silk Museum is housed in a beautifully restored former silk factory. As Donna Raad, a tour guide at the silk museum, explained, it "was built by the Fayad family and fully operational between 1901 and 1954."

The Lebanese Army and Civil Defense units put out a series of forest fires which erupted across Lebanon on Tuesday. The fires effected the areas of Barjeh and Roumieh in Mount Lebanon; Ansarieh, Nejarieh, Bnaafoul, Anqoun, Kfarmilki al-Mari, Haboush, Nabatieh, and Tiri in the South, and Batroun in the North.
