[SPOILERS] While I didn't find this as emotionally satisfying at last week's "... The Colonel" -- probably because I've never really cared about Ellie (Sarah Lancaster) and Awesome (Ryan McPartlin) as a couple -- the finale was likewise stuffed with fun moments and great action. It was a huge celebration of a much-improved season that, praise be, won itself a third year thanks to an imaginative...

Upcoming Spy DVDs: Chuck: The Complete Second Season I've been waiting for this announcement for a long time! Since NBC's spy comedy Chuck isn't coming back for a third go-round until mid-season this year, that, of course, means delayed DVDs of Season 2. I really don't understand the studios' need to release DVD seasons to coincide with new season premieres. Wouldn't it make more sense to make the...

First we thought it was all over for the faux nerd Chuck and his herd. Then we slowly grew hope that NBC's troubles meant more time for the sitcom. Turns out we were right - Chuck's getting six more... [[ This is a content summary only. Visit my website for full links, other content, and more! ]]

[SPOILERS] If you're a fan of Chuck, I think it's nigh impossible not to adore this episode. The plot was wafer thin, but it came jam-packed with big developments, exciting action, and several crowd-pleasing moments. Originally airing at a time when Chuck's future was in doubt, it works extremely well as a series finale -- so much so that I'm worried the season finale next week won't be able to compete...

One of the stories I've always liked is Jekyll and Hyde. I collect film versions of Jekyll and Hyde - there are so many, and with highly variable quality: from the classics of John Barrymore or Spencer Tracy, and the more recent and brilliant modern-day Jekyll miniseries written by Steven Moffat [1], to the Asian action fighting film with Jekyllish trappings starring Adam Baldwin . But I digress....

We had this movie on our Netflix list for several months before Patrick Swayze passed away, because neither Livia nor I could remember whether we’d ever seen it. It finally worked its way to the top of the list, and as it turns out, we hadn’t seen it. And that’s fine, because it left us with a good movie to watch for the first time. NEXT OF KIN finds Swayze playing Truman Gates, a...

[SPOILERS] I have a feeling I was supposed to like this more than I did, but I think I've had my fill of seeing Chuck (Zachary Levi), Sarah (Yvonne Strahovski) and Casey (Adam Baldwin) infiltrate nondescript office blocks crawling with villains, while the story bludgeoned me over the head with its theme of trust... Chuck is still unconvinced the CIA are that keen on rescuing his dad from Fulcrum agents,...

[SPOILERS] An episode guest-starring blonde bombshell Tricia Helfer deserved to be much better than "Chuck Versus The Broken Heart", but this week's Chuck wasted a good idea, although there were some funny moments to help compensate... General Beckman's (Bonita Friedericy) surveillance has provided evidence that Chuck (Zachary Levi) and Sarah's (Yvonne Strahovski) relationship is veering...

How to stop yourself talking when a rogue CIA agent is torturing you? Faint. That, at least, is the typically imaginative response of Chuck, a PC World-esque helper drawn into the world of espionage after the US government's secrets are downloaded into his brain. Zachary Levi is charmingly innocent as Chuck, and Adam Baldwin delivers a bravura performance filled with snarling chagrin as his CIA guard....

[SPOILERS] With caveats, "Chuck Versus The Lethal Weapon" was a very good sequel to last week's episode. It fell prey to the same problems encountered by "... Versus The Beefake" (that the idea of a super-agent coming between Chuck and Sarah is already overplayed), but it went about its business in a far more interesting way... I didn't expect to see Cole Barker (Jonathan Cake)...

Zachary Levi starred as computer geek and social misfit Chuck Bartowski in this heady NBC combination of comedy, fantasy, espionage, teen angst and wish fulfillment. While working a technical-support firm called the Nerd Herd, Chuck accidentally downloaded millions of megabytes of government secrets into his own brain!
