Despite having been a fan of Philip Seymour Hoffman and Laura Linney so long it actually makes me feel old (and, in the case of Hoffman, I’ve genuinely almost grown bored of him in his recent work lol), I couldn't help putting this off and off so much did it resemble your typical indie “gem”. [...]

... of Raymond's book. Allow me to make some casting suggestions. Jon Voight as Jim Tobin, I'd say. Philip Seymour Hoffman would be a strong choice to play McGee (he's pictured to the left there). Paul Giamatti as Raymond. And maybe Josh could be persuaded to play himself.

I've got to be honest here. This article is part rant (or thinking out loud if you prefer) and part tittle tattle. Basically, James Corden (the chubby one from Gavin & Stacey and that Alan Bennett film) has said he would like Philip Seymour Hoffman to play his character in the US version of Gavin & Stacey . The lad has exceptional taste it has to be said. Corden picked Hoffman...

... and "Adaptation" and this new film is the first he has wrote AND directed. It stars the sublime Philip Seymour Hoffman as New York theatre director Caden Cotard, who attempts to put on a play by creating a life-size replica of New York in a warehouse. Roberts and Hanks filled the theatrers, but Hoffman carried the movie. -Chris Farley, Adam...

Rating: C+ Story of Congressman Charlie Wilson and his efforts to increase US support for Afghanistan fighting the Soviets...basically bringing an end to the Cold War. This was an okay movie. The + in the C+ is specifically due to Philip Seymour Hoffman's performance, which was wonderful. Tom Hanks did a good job. Julia Roberts had the worst makeup and hairstyles I've ever seen...
