As if Sweden ever really needs new brilliant pop bands, now they've got The Pale Corners , hailing from Stockholm and making super catchy indiepop with rather lush arrangements, and wonderful breathy vocals. I was sent their song "Steve Buscemi" early this morning and I haven't been able to make myself hit stop yet, so I guess that's a pretty good indication of how great it is. I suppose a better indicator...

"It's all wrong, man! We shouldn't even be up here!" The immortal words of Steve Buscemi atop an Asteroid, but how do they relate to the topic of manliness? Barely at best, but I'm going to try anyway. You see, Armageddon was a film all about over inflated manliness. There are lots of men with huge egos and they all want to save mankind, essentially. Salvation comes in the unlikely form of burly, blue...

The theme of the abbreviated (thanks to the writer's strike) season seems to be Guest Stars and More of Them. Almost every episode found another big name showing up in the building. Jerry Seinfeld, Falco, David Schwimmer, Will Arnett, Carrie Fisher, Buck Henry, Tim Conway, Elaine Stritch, Steve Buscemi, and Matthew Broderick all appear.

Igor is the Rodney Dangerfield of cinematic sidekicks. With rare exceptions (Marty Feldman's turn in ), the deformed lab assistant gets little horror movie respect. Even the legendary Bela Lugosi balked at the suggestion that he play one alongside a then relatively unknown Boris Karloff. It's always about the monster or the mad scientist, not the hunchbacked scrub doing all the dirty work. In the imaginative...
