Hey everyone. in Chicago here. There's a film coming out early next year--January 8 to be exact--called YOUTH IN REVOLT, and it's clearly the product of a demented and extremely funny mind. The movie is about high school student Nick Twisp (played by Michael Cera) whose god-given personality isn't getting him the one thing he really wants--the girl of his dreams, Sheeni Saunders (newcomer Portia Doubleday)....

The comedy, which played the last day at the 32nd annual Starz Denver Film Festival, could serve as the poster child for why audiences distrust indie fare. The precious characters. Dramatic developments out of the clear blue sky. [...] Related posts: Vegas drama goes...

Pixar's fourth film makes it to Blu-ray in an absolutely stunning hi-def experience, but despite an abundance of discs (a second BD, DVD and Digital Copy), there's little new here and even some missing ingredients.

This weeks Girl Talk Thursday is featuring the actors we "love" even though they aren't very attractive. Mine include: Steve Buscemi - Dude is funny. Danny Trejo - Dude is kinda scary but in a could be a fun time kind of way. Samuel L. Jackson - Can be both funny and scary and occasionally both at the same time. Rob Schneider - I don't care what you say, he's funny. The Animal was awesome....

In today's column, I write about my visit Monday to the set of "Boardwalk Empire," HBO's upcoming drama - produced by Martin Scorsese and Terence Winter, who was one of David Chase's right-hand men on "The Sopranos" - about gangsters in Atlantic City at the dawn of Prohibition. The outdoor boardwalk set (which the story features several photos of, as well as shots of Steve Buscemi...

NEW YORK - You can see the Empire State Building from the Atlantic City boardwalk. At least you can from the 300-foot section that in recent months has grown in Brooklyn's Greenpoint section to provide a 1920s backdrop for HBO's upcoming "Boardwalk Empire."
