By Marisa Durham In the past you had to go to a store if you wanted to rent or buy a movie. You can now save a trip to the video store and download movies right off the internet. Following is a list of a few movies that you can get using a movie download site. Scandalous John: A Disney comedy Western chronicling what occurs when older, lovably ornery rancher Keith refuses to sell his land to a developer....

As if you hadn't guessed already from my OHW posts and my tribute to Suzanne Pleshette below. This morning I read all my usual suspects: Boortz, Ace, The Corner etc and realized I needed a break from politics so I went over to visit my blogger buddy Richard at Three Score and Ten or More. Richard was one of the first bloggers whom I got to know when I first started blogging 5 years ago. His blog is...

This afternoon I saw Suzanne Pleshette in Gunsmoke (as "Glory Bramley" in the 1970 episode, Stark .) Boy! She was beautiful. It reminded me of how much in love with her I was as a kid - actually all my life. I was very sad when she died of lung cancer two years ago at the young (to me at least) age of 70. Suzanne Pleshette was born in Brooklyn to a Jewish show-biz family and got started on...

The papers lead with the first full day of the Republican convention, where President Bush, Sen. Joseph Lieberman, and Fred Thompson praised John McCain as an independent thinker with the necessary experience to lead the country in a time of war. The Los Angeles Times notes that the GOP had two main goals for last night : "to reintroduce McCain to the country after a rocky few days and to denigrate...

There is a relatively new blog out there: Pittsburgh Flicks , all about movies set in Pittsburgh. I think there is something aberrant in the web site code there, it keeps giving me various errors. Maybe someone can crowdsource some tech support for them, or help me I suppose if nobody else is having similar problems. They have a list there of locally shot movies... I wonder how complete that list is....

And it's truly amazing : ... [S]tudios are finally starting to realize that they don't need to pay stars $20 million a film or give them a big chunk of the revenues, as they had reflexively done for years. Julia Roberts now gets closer to $12 million. Travolta, who got $20 million for the fire disaster movie Ladder 49 in 2004, is said to have received half that for his role in The Taking of Pelham...

ROME ADVENTURE has two beautiful assets: lovely young Suzanne Pleshette and the many sights of Italy. Pleshette plays Prudence Bell, a New England school librarian who quits her job and leaves the U.S. for sunny Italy, where she finds a job in a bookstore and meets architect Don Porter (Troy Donahue). As Prudence and Don explore Italy together, they fall in love. (Pleshette and Donahue also became...
