I DO is a surprisingly cheerful, unpretentious French comedy about a middle-aged man, Luis (Alain Chabat), who pays a friend's sister, Emmanuelle (Charlotte Gainsbourg), to pose as his fiance in order to get his nagging mother and five sisters off his back.

Proof that the French can make romcoms as annoying as ours. An inveterate bachelor (Alain Chabat) pays his friend's sister (Charlotte Gainsbourg) to be his girlfriend and then to jilt him so that his family will never pester him to marry again. The leads are fine, but the charades they enter into are less cute than director Eric Lartigau appears to believe. I Don't ? and nor should you.
