The last couple years weren't the best for comic book movies. From Ang Lee's arthouse interpretation of the Hulk to the inspirationless Ghost Rider, a series of comic book adaptations were produced that failed to...
Now with Iron Man out of the way and Indiana Jones 4 due in just about a week, all eyes will soon be focused on The Incredible Hulk. Will it be better than Ang Lee's Hulk? How awesome will Edward Norton be as Bruce Banner? There are a lot of questions but no answers yet, [...]

Such have been his performances in front of the camera, has fielded calls from the likes of Steven Spielberg, Ang Lee and Martin Scorsese all clammering to sign Perry up for new projects. Indeed, we were even contacted by the ‘In and Out’ film company from California but after studying a few examples of their work (37 DVD's to be honest) we eventually had to turn them down.
Ang Lee's movie "Lust, Caution" has made a star of Chinese author Eileen Chang. Residents of an old, unremarkable seven-story building on Shanghai’s Changde Road have been invaded by curious people particularly interested in a sixth-floor corner apartment. It turns out the snoopers have figured out that this was the former residence of a famous writer named Zhang Ailing, (aka Eileen Chang) who lived...
... doesn't look like a box-office bomb! (Don't let the door hit you on the backside as you leave, Mr. Ang Lee. Thank you.) The Happening “In a world where all of humanity is mysteriously dying off, one man will survive… Marky Mark .” Yes, Shyamalan truly understands the horror genre. Get Smart Let's face it: Steve Carell has played “ Michael Scott as ___” in every single theatrical role he’s had to...
... love these two men. You love them. So I had apprehensions about the film, although the fact that Ang Lee was directing soothed me somewhat. Jake Gyllenhall is not at ALL the "Jack" in the story - and both actors have better teeth than either of these guys ever would - but I understand how Hollywood works. And I was astonished when I saw the film. First of all, the adaptation was amazing. Word for...
Anand reviews The Forbidden Kingdom and recommends it highly. Starring both Jackie Chan and Jet Li, it certainly appeals to avid martial arts fans. The film has none of the high philosophy and romantic lyricism of Ang Lee’s Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon; neither does it have the dark, brutal undercurrents of films like Old Boy and [...]
Leaving films like "Casper" behind, Ricci took on increasingly more complex roles as a teenager in human dramas such as director Ang Lee's "The Ice Storm" (1997) and as a young adult in "The Laramie Project," (2002) which dealt with the hate crime murder of a young gay man, Matthew Shepard.
Can audiences forget the sour aftertaste from the earlier Hulk ? COUNTLESS comic-book bad guys have made the fatal mistake of underestimating the Hulk. Have Hollywood and the media made the same costly error?
directed by Ang Lee Well, this one was unexpectedly good. I didn't watch it on the big screen, because of the suckfest that many reviews implied, but somehow I wish I had. It's not perfect, far too long for its own good and the non-standard cuts and pictures in pictures scenes didn't add much, but I [...]
... is not the type of guy who would want to appear in a straight popcorn flick. I am a big fan of the Ang Lee Hulk and Norton's and Leterrier’s take on the big green monster is what I am hoping to see. I don't want to leave my brain outside the theater when I watch a movie and a dumbed down version is definitely not something I will support.
I have to say that I am looking forward to this new take on the Hulk. I enjoyed the Ang Lee Hulk from a few years back. Save for the weird ending, the movie was a well written and executed science fiction film that had the misfortune of being marketed as a big action flick. However, that movie did not go over well and we are set to get this redux, The Incredible Hulk . Edward Norton stars as Banner...
... hearing. “This is the making of a good film here,” the banking committee chairman, Sen. W. David Angus, said at a recent hearing. That may be a stretch. But Sarah Polley, a Canadian actress who recently received an Oscar nomination for the screenplay adaptation of “Away From Her,” a film she also directed, told the committee that “it has been decades since any issue has generated such a strong...
... with the impressive back story that lead up to it.Somehow the considerable combined talents of Ang Lee and Eric Bana managed to repeat Spider-Man's trick with 2003's Hulk, with ridiculous special effects destroying all dramatic tension as the not-so-jolly green giant leapt out of canyons and withstood missile strikes with ease. Here's hoping .After Tim Burton laid the foundation stones for a darker,...
