I recently watched two great comedies from across the pond. The first is a French film, The Dinner Game. Netflix describes it thusly,Writer-director Francis Veber's clever comedy shadows a group of French intellectuals who gather each Wednesday night for a dinner game, in which the challenge is to bring along the most idiotic guest. Pierre (Thierry Lhermitte) thinks he's found a ringer in

Jay Roach's Dinner for Schmucks is adding another seat at the table for Ron Livingston; the movie also stars funny guys Zach Galifianakis, Steve Carell, and Paul Rudd. Dinner is based on the famous French movie directed and written by Francis Veber, Le dîner de cons, otherwise known as The Dinner Game, which won a César for best writing. Dinner is the story of a dining group with a rather...

I had a successful career writing for television. My movie-writing career is a different story. A very short story. Or, more precisely, no story at all. Be gentle, will ya? I’ve got heart problems. Sorry. I was just trying to be accurate. Accuracy isn’t everything. That doesn’t sound like you. It’s me with heart problems. Can I still tell the story? Sure. It’s a good story....

Actress Lucy Punch is pretty much set to star in Jay Roach's upcoming "Dinner for Schmucks," a remake of Francis Veber's popular 1998 comedy "Le diner de cons" (The Dinner Game). Steve Carell and Paul Rudd are also on board to star in the project, in which a bunch of friends organize a weekly dinner to which they invite the dumbest people they can find. "Schmucks" is set...

Can't say I know much about Brit blond Lucy Punch, save for her cute name (and nose). But her latest gig indicates movement on the long-awaited DINNER WITH SCHMUCKS, and that's worth looking at. Her too, of course... Punch will join Steve Carell and his Apatow-esque buddy Paul Rudd under FOCKERS handler Jay Roach, for the adaptation of Francis Veber's French play -and 1998 film- Le Dîner...
