Coverage of Obama and McCain is so unbalanced that even the NY Times has noticed.

Germany has long been funny about celebrity, which makes the show at the Helmut Newton Foundation a particularly fascinating and revealing exercise.

The new big-screen Land Of The Lost movie will be a bizarre treat that actually satisfies fans of the 1970s original. You can take it from no less an authority than Juno scripter Diablo Cody, who... [[ This is a content summary only. Visit my website for full links, other content, and more! ]]

Richard Lewis didn't choose the comedy career path. A career pathology is more like it. He performs today through Sunday at the Pittsburgh Improv at the Waterfront in Homestead.

According to the New York Times, comedians are having a hard time making fun of Barack Obama. Reasons vary. Some people think the late-night talk show and comedy writers are going easy on Obama because of ideology. That may be true, but I tend to believe what most of the writers and producers in this [...]

Several strained interviews linger in my memory, but this 8-minute clip from "The Dick Cavett Show" is almost otherworldly, and I mean that in a good way. Thirty-eight years ago was another planet. [ Below, the same points made by other means by Signor Antonioni .]

Jump to the full entry & travel map Frankfurt, Hesse, Germany Touch Down! Summer in Europe 2008, a pleasant 25 degrees greeted us as we exited the Airport arrivals lounge. In an instant Al Ogrady was at our hotel and we were on our racers and out enjoying the sites of outer Frankfurt / Kelsterbache. After an hour of dodging traffic we retired to the various sports bars in...

Cypselus von Frankenberg. Now that's what I call a name. (Even Mel Brooks would approve.) It belongs to MINI's spokesman. When Cypselus (can I call you Cypselus') isn't busy calling media outlets to tell them to CAPITALIZE THE GOD DAMN NAME FOR CHRIST'S SAKE, he's updating journalists on the latest MINI variant. Did you know the MINI Mars Lander is due soon? Speaking of which, Automotive News [sub]...

For some reason, I'm thinking of Mel Brooks, one of the greatest comedic minds of our time. Two decades ago, he made a horrible mistake and and remade Ernst Lubitsch's TO BE OR NOT TO BE. The result was decent, but, compared against the original, it was a waste of time, talent and money; it served no purpose, and is barely considered nowadays. I'd like Aronofsky to consider this before he does anything...

I was going to go out today, but I woke up with the fatigue monster knocking me on my butt, so I decided after I was done doing the dishes, I'd pop some popcorn and watch a movie. Back in June when Harvey Korman died, I inquired about Mel Brooks's movies on Wyatt's post. Crazy Politico was kind enough to recommend some movies, three of which I haven't seen. Well, I did see parts of Blazing Saddles...

Imagine Shakespeare had made “Blazing Saddles” and you might have a taste of what director Paul Mullins does at the Old Globe Theatre with his guiltlessly silly, thoroughly appealing “The Merry Wives of Windsor.”

I'm glad to be in the "developing" part of the planet for the first time in my life. The heat and the humidity have got me thankful to be wearing the kind of garb I would have derided as hippie while Stateside. Just the latest fulfillment of the prediction of my favorite sage (Mel Brooks' 2000 [...]

Adam Sandler's new flick takes Hollywood chicanery and stereotypes that denigrate Arabs to an unprecedented level—surpassing hit flicks like The Kingdom, The Siege, and others.
