FROM MTV.COM: Seventeen years ago, the legendary Harvey Keitel launched the second act of his movie career with a pair of tough-guy instant classics: Quentin Tarantino's "Reservoir Dogs" and Abel Ferrara's "Bad Lieutenant." A crack-pipe-smoking breath of fresh air, "Lieutenant" predated "The Shield" by a decade in telling the NC-17 story of a junkie, [...]
BACK TO THE FUTURE Tess (Cassidy Freeman) kidnaps Lois (Erica Durance) to find out where Lois went after she disappeared for weeks. Lois’ memory of the future depicts a Metropolis under Zod’s (Callum Blue) rule and Clark (Tom Welling) powerless under the red sun, while Chloe (Allison Mack) forms a resistance group with Oliver (Justin Hartley). After learning of these future events, Clark
This was my dream last night. I woke up and wrote it straight down. Everyone in your dream is you, apparently. Two gangsters are guarding the door of a flat in Los Angeles. Violence and pain can be heard from within. Gangster 1: I don’t know how much longer I can stay in this game. Gangster 2: What? The first gangster looks at the second, cautious. G1: It’s that... that Quentin Tarantino....
In Japan, where the blades are shiny and sharp and if the fake blood isn't staining the lens, you're not trying hard enough, there' s a rich tradition of sword-and-splatter pictures. That's the tradition Quentin Tarantino's "Kill Bill" leaned on, and it's the foundation of "Ninja Assassin," a more run-of-the-mill Hollywood ninja movie with "Matrix" ties.
exsouvenir / Oh No They Didn't! ... er previously appeared in Steve McQueen's "Hunger," Quentin Tarantino's "Inglourious Basterds" and Andrea Arnold's "Fish Tank." He will next be seen in Neil Marshall's Roman actioner "Centurion" and Warner Bros.' "Jonah Hex" opposite Josh Brolin and Megan Fox . Ellen Page was previously attached to star as the eponymous...
I'm not quite ready to follow Gold Derby 's logic when it claims that Inglourious Basterds will be the Best Picture winner at the Oscars. Sure, it's a prediction for the sake of making a prediction, but I don't think it's a stong case. I do think Basterds will likely get nominated, along with Quentin Tarantino for screenplay and possibly director, but the pieces of this theory aren't all coming together...
The Chateau Marmont hosted GQ 's Men of the Year Awards last night in LA. A few of the magazine's honorees, including Zach Galifianakis, Tom Ford, and Neil Patrick Harris joined forces with starlets like Olivia Wilde and AnnaLynne McCord. January Jones hit the carpet alongside Dexter 's Jennifer Carpenter as Alexander Skarsgard, who won a "Man Who Saved HBO" award, went from LAX to the bash...
Now easily available online, in its entirety. In this feature-length documentary, Troy James Hurtubise goes face to face with Canada's most deadly land mammal, the grizzly bear. Troy is the creator of what he hopes is a grizzly-proof suit, and he repeatedly tests his armour and courage in stunts that are both hair-raising and hilarious. Directed by Peter Lynch, the film has become a cult classic in...
Envelope/Gold Derby guy Tom O'Neil is predicting that Inglourious Basterds will win the Best Picture Oscar. Trust me -- this won't happen. We're living in anxious, racially attuned, recession-afflicted times, and that means Up In The Air -- the only film by my measure that has that dignified, settled, summing-up-everyone-and-everything vibe -- or Invictus will take it. Enjoyable as it is and admired...

mmmmmANGELINA. Man gelina. I'm so curious to see Salt now that Jolie is staring me down from the poster (she does so more intimidatingly there -- the gaze is more benevolent in real life ) and I'm reminded that Salt was originally written for a male star. Will we see any telltale signs of that gender-switch in the movie? Oh link it, link it real good MovieLine awesome composer Alexandre Desplat doesn't...
This was another incredibly pleasant (if that’s the right word) surprise. I wouldn’t say I’ve exactly gone off Quentin Tarantino as a director but my initial approach to his films has become increasingly apprehensive since Kill Bill. I thought Kill Bill was perfect in every way, but when the Grindhouse thing came along I thought [...]
Hi. How are you? My name’s Elliot, and I’m with the Cub Scouts of America. We’re… we’re selling uncut cocaine to get to the jamboree. – Elliot Quentin Tarantino penned the script for True Romance for director Tony Scott. I heard about this movie, because when I saw the IMDb page of Inglourious Basterds. He made one [...]
The other day TV viewers in Japan got a treat: Quentin Tarantino and Brad Pitt appearing on the popular variety show Bistro SMAP. SMAP (which stands for "Sports Music Assemble People" in case you were wondering) is a popular -- what? boy band? post-boy band? they all pushing 40 so let's go with "talent group" -- consisting of five members who sing, dance and do comedy skits, which...

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) –Jonathan Demme, Anjelica Huston, Quentin Tarantino and Kirk Douglas will be among the presenters when Oscar organizers hand out honorary statuettes at a black-tie dinner in Hollywood next month. Actress Lauren Bacall, producer/director Roger Corman and cinematographer Gordon Willis will receive special Oscars during the ceremony at Hollywood & Highland on November...
LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) –Troy Duffy, director of the Quentin Tarantino-tinted "Boondock Saints" -- and the rise-and-fall subject of the arguably more entertaining 2003 documentary "Overnight" -- returns to the scene of his 1999 debut with "The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day." If Duffy's decade away has proved to be a humbling experience, you wouldn't know it from this bloated follow-up,...
