While doing press for Bright Star, HitFix was able to get actress Abbie Cornish to dish some dirt on the upcoming Zack Snyder film Sucker Punch, which began shooting in Vancouver last month. As you know already, Snyder has called the film "Alice in Wonderland with machine guns", a 1950's-period action movie which tells the story of a girl named Baby Doll (Emily Browning) who is confined to...

Over at the comic book blog Robot 6, Sean Collins reports that Frank Miller, the celebrated creator of Batman: The Dark Knight Returns , Sin City , and 300 , has become a regular commenter at the blog of conservative writer and military historian Victor Davis Hanson: Miller's comments at Hanson's online hangout were first widely noticed this week, when the cartoonist and director responded to a Hanson...

Even if you're a detractor of Zack Snyder's 300 (and I understand why the film has them), you have to agree that its style was what made it special. It was lovely to look at, it was simultaneously a Frank Miller panel and an ancient Greek sculpture, and duplicating it really misses the point. Of course, Hollywood believes that if it's worth doing once to the tune of millions of dollars, it's worth...

Fox to Re-tell the Story of Moses… 300-Style : 300 just had buckets of blood. Moses will have a river of it! This could be awesome. However, Zack Snyder’s not directing this time (nor is he writing), so this could be terrible. meh. We’ll see.

The same writing team hired to make a graphic-novel style, adventurous take on Moby Dick for Timur Bekmambetov and Universal have sold a pitch to Fox that would see them re-telling the story of Moses in the style of Zack Snyder's 300. Yep, Moses will soon be using the stone tablets bearing God's laws to knock heads in at a theatre near you. The Bear Jew? Guy's a pussy compared to this Moses. Variety...

Before our generation comes to a close, all of ancient history and mythology will have been filmed through a Zack Snyder / Frank Miller lens. Variety reports that the next ancient text to get the green-screened sepia treatment is the tale of Moses. Yes, Ten Commandments Moses. 20th Century Fox and its new big dog, Peter Chernin, have snapped up a pitch to retell "Let my people go!" in 300...

Gerard Butler hasn’t completely closed the door on another 300 movie – although he says he’s not sure it would ever happen – but he and Frank Miller might be reconnecting on something else in the future. Butler told MTV’s Splashpage that he and the 300 and Sin City author have discussed another possible sequel. [...] Related posts: Frank Miller says ‘Sin City 2′...

Gerard Butler may have done a stellar job in Frank Miller’s graphic novel made movie – 300, however according to Butler himself he really isn’t into graphic novels. He had the following to say about the situation: “I could see myself working with director Frank Miller again but, I don’t know. Graphic novels are things that I wouldn’t do a lot of, so I would have...

There is nothing new about sequel talk or prequel talk regarding 300 , the movie that not only was one of the biggest surprises of 2007 but also stands as the primary reason we're seeing so many sword n' sandal movies in various stages of development ( Clash of the Titans, Conan, Red Sonja , etc.). The trouble is, the story's not really written for a part two and a prequel might not offer too much...

I can safely say without a big "spoiler alert" tag, that a sequel to 300 would seem to be more or less out of the question. Very loosely based on the very real battle of 300 Spartans holding off an entire Persian army, the film ends with 299 dead Spartans, and one missing an eye who goes home to tell the tale. But due to the massive success of the film, Frank Miller has been writing away,...
