Dreamgirls is coming back to the stage…but not in NYC (just yet)! The upcoming $10 million revival will be launched in Seoul, South Korea — 6,883 miles away from the great white way. The Seoul production is being put together by Broadway veterans. It will tour several US cities before landing on Broadway in the 2009-2010 season. Interesting [...]

Well, I admit I couldn't help but amuse myself looking at the bimbos dreaming to be our dream girl. Honestly though, if you ask me who I am rooting for, there're only 2 sort of decent choices that most of you would agree with that is quite likable. After watching the videos up to Episode 5, I find that Jean and Valerie are the most likable character wise. I try not to go mainly into the looks part...

This vintage card started life as a vintage photo which was printed onto glossy photopaper and subsequently cut out carefully. The base card was made from textured moss green cardstock which was covered with diagonal stripes of 3mm double sided tape and covered with black and gold ultra fine glitter. The photo was adhered with foam pads and the metal 'Dream' brad was used to attach a piece of German...

Dreamgirls rockets at warp speed from Detroit to the stratosphere, boosted by the performances of Eddie Murphy and Jennifer Hudson as singers left behind by soul's crossover to the pop charts.Bill Condon's screen adaptation of the 1981 Broadway sensation is, if possible, as dazzling and energizing as its source. Because the movie foregrounds the story of showbiz glory and shame against the triumphs...

Sure, you've heard Beyonce Knowles’ sing. If you watch American Idol you've probably been treated to hearing Jennifer Hudson belt it out. There’s even a chance that somewhere in the 80’s you ran afoul of Eddie Murphy's terrifying solo album. But even if you've caught all three, you haven't ever heard them the way you will if you pick up the soulful, powerful, energetic soundtrack to Dreamgirls,...

A 15-year-old Filipina named Charice Pempengco has proven me right once again. Filipinas sing better than black girls. Charice performed a Dreamgirls song And I Am Telling You, which won Jennifer Hudson an Oscar, only Charice did it better. I’m certain Pedophiles who roam the Internet will agree, if not just for the fact this [...]

I don't know about you but I enjoy a good movie musical. The Sound of Music, The King and I, Newsies. I know some people don't like singing and would prefer to fast forward through those parts. But those are the people who don't really listen to the words in the songs. Sometimes it's easier to show your emotions through singing and music than it is to just speak them. I was iffy about seeing Dreamgirls....
