Stan Lee, who inadvertently shaped contemporary film, is now trying to do so on purpose LITTLE is certain in the film business these days, thanks to piracy and the recession. But here is a fairly safe prediction. Next year one of the ten bestselling films at the American box office will be based on a comic-book superhero created by Stan Lee. There will be another one, perhaps two, the following year....

The legendary comic-book man has a new character ready to leap onto the Web and cell phone: Time Jumper S tan Lee sits in his Santa Monica Boulevard office, surrounded by images of his creations: A life-size statue of the Amazing Spider-Man, a poster of the Incredible Hulk, a desktop figure of Ben Grimm, aka The Thing.

Taking the DC Comics model of how to make stupid ideas go a long way if you just make each character a new colour; we seem to have the Incredible Hulk corps. Maybe it's just Loeb and Liefeld recycling stupid ideas they had circa Heroes Reborn, but the redundancy of ideas is just stunning. Ladies and Gentlemen: The purple Hulk Smash ( via Laura )

TUAW is reporting that Marvel Comics, home to the X-Men, Avengers, Fantastic Four, Incredible Hulk, Captain America, Thor, and Spider-Man has announced at the New York Comic Con: their intention to sell “In-Motion” comic books through the iTunes Store.
