I don't foresee myself walking down the aisle anytime soon, but that won't stop me from peeping at the latest bridal fashions from Jenny Packham, Vera Wang, Reem Acra, Monique Lhuillier, and Temperley London. For Fall '10, the designers supplied us with an abundance of fabulous, frothy layers of tulles, taffeta, lace, and ruffles. However, what really caught my eye were a surprising selection of fancy...

Photo Credit: NYMag.comPolka Dots at Tory Burch, Marc by Marc Jacobs, and Reem Acra. Style tip? The trend for Spring 2010 is polka dots with a twist. The new polka dot is seen oversized, textured (instead of printed), and organically shaped. Wear a single type of dot (like the crocheted dots at Tory Burch), or mix [...]

Not to long ago I was bemoaning the look of the Twenty-Zeros , which I summed up in a single word: ugly. And then WHAT does the American Fashion Industry do? It beats me over the head with the pretty stick during New York Fashion Week. My only complaint now (and you knew there had to be a complaint, didn't you') is that I've downloaded a whole mess of pretty and I don't really know how to divide it...

We’re at the apex of New York Fashion Week now, and while models parade through Manhattan and model-esque editors are photographed by the Sartorialist, let’s not forget or ignore the other coterie of individuals that comes with the fashion industry. These are people who, for better or worse, have cultivated looks that rarely, if ever, [...] More Like This: Fashion Week Diaries: ‘I...

Photo Credit: NYMag.comStatement Necklaces at LAMB, Reem Acra, and Ports 1961. Style tip? How to wear a statement necklace? The easiest way is to pair it against a basic background - a top or dress in a simple shape and solid color. But if you want to try something a little more challenging, the runway provides [...]

Who: Monique Lhuillier What it made us think of: Safari and glam beaten with a hammer and shoved in a blender. C work from an A student. Who: Nicole Miller What it made us think of: Working out...by water and a biker bar. What we liked: Rouched skinny pants, sequin...

Photo Credit: NYMag.comSequined Disco Dresses at Cynthia Steffe, Reem Acra, and Derek Lam. Style tip? The disco 70s and the over-the-top 80s shone a spotlight on sequins and shine - so in today’s backwards looking fashion culture, it’s no surprise to see a resurgence of this glittery embellishment. Our favorite look places these sequins all over [...]

Inspiration, as we all know, can come from any source: music, art, literature, hell, even bodily functions. As we eagerly await the spring collections, we asked designers to give us one word to describe their upcoming shows. Most stuck to the rules, some did not. Read them and be inspired. “Fluid” Diane Von Furstenberg “Waves” Thakoon “Mediterranea” Christian Siriano...
