... that's a subject for another day.” Or maybe not. What music would Stern prefer? “How do you spell Simon and Garfunkel? Or Billy Joel? Or The Beach Boys? I’m lost. But that's OK. I appreciate it is their new-age music, the hip hop, the rap. It's fine. The reality is I think that what has happened is that very well-intentioned people feel that it's their obligation to root their team...

It's finally "spring" here. This means that it's still relatively cold (in the 50s right now), but every week or two we get a day in the 70s to tease us. The fact that a lot of my chief musical influences were...

Robin Hayes, my old friend I've come to talk with you again Because a foreign war steadily creeping Left me worried while I was sleeping And the violence That will be waged under your name Still remains Despite the sound of your silence In Iraq our soldiers walk alone You won't even pick up the phone To urge action from your grand old camp To fix barracks that are cold and damp Housing troops whose...

From the start, I wanted every album, every song of Simon and Garfunkel's. I played them constantly and had Bookends with me in Africa. Someone sent Bridge Over Troubled Water to me when it was released in 1970. I was thrilled to have it and played it so often I had to do the Bic pen rewind. It was their final album together. “Hello darkness my old friend, it's time to jerk those tears again”. With a sly quote from Simon and Garfunkel, a bit of self-parody, and some not-inconsiderable internal restructuring (“efficiencies”, euphemistically), Tindersticks are back. I think I must have seen their last show in their old formation (which at the time looked like it may [...]

The Pens scored when the Rangers turned the puck over at the Pens' blue line. They worked it in for a shot by Dupuis . Hossa took the rebound and BURIED...
