The Wiltshire town of Swindon has another claim to fame – other than being the birthplace of Diana Dors (hence the photo). Swindon is also now to be crowned as the UK’s first Wi-Fi town – this means offering ‘free’ public Wi-Fi to all 186,000 residents. By April 2010 the Wi-Fi “Signal” service will be in place [...] Related posts: Free Wi-Fi at (in and around)...
Before I had started this music blog, I wrote about a crowd sourced video of Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson playing at a Foo Fighters concert. Today's Free Download Friday takes that concept and adds rocket boosters! Nine Inch Nails Live @ House Of Blues... I thought it was a one off ... then I found some more ... and here we are with the third When musical worlds collide . Do you enjoy these odd pairings as much as I do? Would you like to see more? Collision 1: I'll start with the one I'm least sure about. I love the video but I'm not sure it counts as a collision as I'll explain below: My memory of Gary Numan is of a early pioneer of Synth Pop whereas...
I'm a huge fan of Nine Inch Nails and alot of their videos are highly creative (i.e. Only). I honestly don't know if this is the official video for the song Discipline (from The Slip) but it's funny as...
I spent many happy years working with musicians and their music. I loved it. Some still know me as a former radio guy but there is a much deeper story. Below The Surface Radio – like every industry – has much more under the surface than those outside comprehend. Overseeing a radio station requires regular business stuff like budgets and talent development; promotional duties such as website...
Photo courtesy of David Marek, Girlie Action Media, Inc. Really, so your plan was to spend your night off in between World Series games at home, resting your liver and your wallet? Well think again, because there is a tour rolling into Philly on Friday that takes crazy to a whole new level. Tell your checking account that everything will be okay, but trust us: Saul Williams is definitely worth going...
OK, Where to start with this album? It was produced in 1989 so obviously the production isn't really close to that of more recent releases. I also think the chief hit the nail on the head when he said you can tell it was made in the 80s. It has a really funk-y sound underneath the typical Nine Inch Nails industrial style. For a debut release it's impressive, and it's a great taster of what was to come...

Filed under: News , Television , New Music Nine Inch Nails may be finished but Trent Reznor is hardly done with making music. Reznor's first release since taking NIN out of commission is the soundtrack to a promo clip for J.J. Abrams ' paranormal Fox drama ' Fringe .' According to Entertainment Weekly , Reznor reworked the 'Year Zero' track 'Zero Sum' for the trailer of the show after the network's...

Now that Nine Inch Nails are done touring, Trent has time for exciting new projects. Like a commercial for the ridiculous pseudo-science drama Fringe ? Apparently he refused compensation, just wanting "to have fun and be part of something cool." Watch .
Filed under: News , Album Ah, home, Tweet home. Trent Reznor broke his Twitter silence last night when the recently-wedded Nine Inch Nails mastermind acknowledged a major career milestone: the 20th anniversary of his debut disc, 'Pretty Hate Machine.' "Happy birthday, old friend. Pretty Hate Machine turns 20," Reznor wrote in his first tweet since quitting Twitter back in July . Reznor's...
The Slip is an album that was released for free by Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails) last year absolutely free of charge and I was amazed. I'd always had ridiculous pre-conceptions of Nine Inch Nails and after listening to the album I've realised that they're nothing more than a dark electronic rock band as opposed to the gothic, death metal band I presumed them to be. It wasn't just the music that impressed...
As most of you have already heard Trent Reznor and Gary Numan are planning to record a record together. Seems to all started when Numan joined NIN for a show in London at the O2 Arena. In Reznors quotes "that in the creation of NIN, there was one person that was vitally important to the creation". That man was Gary Numan and the videos below are performances from that show shoot in HD quality...
NIN: “Cars” with Gary Numan, live from on stage, London 7.15.09 [HD] from Nine Inch Nails on Vimeo. I’m not sure which came first (this video or the news), but apparently Trent Reznor and Gary Numan are going to collaborate on some kind of future music project, which sounds pretty cool. Trent also posted a cryptic [...] Related posts: Photos: Nine Inch Nails @ Red Rocks 9/2/08 Yo,...
Now KoRn were my new band of choice I started to find the roots of metal. I did not slip straight into the stream of metal, I listened to KoRn with my current choice of music for a while, I cannot remember the next KoRn album I purchased, I think it was either their Greatest Hits or Issues. They became quite popular on Kerrang at this point and me and my brother grew accaccustomed to a few of their...
