Top blasting with Mr Race big bad J HH Sat AM hit up Norwich track with puddles everywhere & drizzle cos we just don't care. Got the blood pumping & shifted me 'party' induced hangover. There is no room for bible themed paper based games in my partying so I mainly got drunks & that to blot out the hideous reality I was experiencing. PM we hit up farmers trails with the lovely Ms Gothic...

Following up last year's decent debut album, Condemned Cathedral , Texan old school cult Decrepitaph have issued a limited edition 7" EP with a pair of new tracks, an intro and outro. "Resurrected (intro)" swells with dark ambient synths for just over a minute before the death-doom tones of "Apocalyptic Pandemonium" embark on their bleak journey. Once the track picks up, it...

By David Glisan Throughout its history, heavy metal has done well to avoid pretense. Bands sung about topics like slaying dragons, chasing women, and partying. Then, at some point during the 1990s, the cancer of nu metal started to metastasize in the heavy metal genre. Bands started singing about relationships and their feelings in an effort to gain mainstream popularity. Were not talking about an...

Germany has had its fair share of death metal, a solid if softspoken scene which has existed since the early days of the genre's transformation and genesis. But few of its exports have exploded onto the scene in quite the same fashion as the excellent Fleshcrawl . This band would go on to create many great albums with a clear Scandinavian death influence, but ironically, their debut Descend Into the...

Australia's been pretty pissed lately, and Destruktor is yet another piece of evidence. Another band performing in old school territory has made their way to Hell's Headbangers records and then to your stereo. After a few splits and EPs, Nailed is this band's first stab at a full-length, and a successful puncture wound. Unlike most of the label's acts, this is more of a pure death metal album with...

Sardonic is a German death metal band with a pair of albums under their belts. Similar to another band I've recently reviewed ( Fleshworks ), they've got a former member of Branded Skin, but the material this band performs has a fun, thrashing edge to it which is thoroughly entertaining throughout the EP. Title track/instrumental "Parasites" is the first out the gate with a nice buildup before...

Serving as my introduction to Bastardized Recordings, Morphology Of Fear is a split disc featuring dual EP offerings from two of Germany's elite deathcore acts, Six Reasons To Kill and Absidia. The term deathcore should be taken in the lightest representation possible. Both bands, in essence, are outstanding death metal acts. The 'core' elements only come into play for brief moments here and

Yeah, as the title says I am a dunce. Why? Because I only just realised that two of the four dwarf quarrellers I have finished have the wrong arm. They do not have the correct one to allow the hand attached to the crossbow to connect. So, I do not have four finished quarrellers, I have two. =/ I feel like an idiot. Alas no pictures, but there will be when I get around to painting the rest of the unit...

So far I've bought 14 wood elves, 35 minis from the space hulk boxed set and 2 free mantic elves. 52 vs 51 - yes! Well actually its more of a nooooooooooooo. Yesterday I cracked and ordered a big box of those mantic elves so I have another 52 miniatures...

Hot on the heels of their excellent debut album last year, Dutch death blitzkrieg Hail of Bullets return with a teaser EP. Anyone enjoyed the grounded hybrid of Pestilence and Bolt Thrower that was . ..Of Frost and War should rest assured that no changes have been made, the band is still pure death war metal with World War lyrical themes. The EP begins with what we've really been anticipating, two...
