Your nights out with dead legends

Ian Dury, John Martyn and errrm Razzle from Hanoi Rocks are the only names I can claim to have seen alive and gigging. Surely someone (anyone) can top my sorry threesome. Collectively The Massive must stretch to a star-spangled roll call of dead ledges seen live - but which furious gig-goer has bagged the greatest number or heaviest hitting? A mate of mine once saw Sinatra live purely on the so-I-can-say-I've-seen-him...

Michael Monroe's New Project Revealed by Bam Margera

Monroe first rose to prominence as the frontman for Hanoi Rocks in the early 1980s and, thus, helped usher in...

Rock Of Ages Festival @ Bridgehouse 2

Toni, Aaron and I went to Canning Town to the Bridgehouse 2 to go and see some bands at the Rock Of Ages Festival. That in itself was a real challenge. We have been to Canning Town before to go to the Excel centre which is all very nice. Bridgehouse 2 was in the opposite direction in the middle of an industrial area that seemed to comprise of wreckage and breakers yards, razor wire and dark empty streets....

New York Dolls back for one more London gig

Not sure how I feel about the New York Dolls these days - sure, they're one of the most influential bands ever and Johnny Thunders was one of the coolest dudes ever to hold a guitar. But he's long dead...

Interviews: New York Dolls’ Sami Yaffa

He’s definitely got one of the more impressive rock ‘n’ roll resumes on the planet…he’s played in Hanoi Rocks and currently plays in New York Dolls…he’s shared the stage with Johnny Thunders and Jerry Nolan. Sami was cool enough to take time out [...]

11 April 2009 Urho Kekkosen katu "I'm wearing mostly second hand. The 80's styled Hanoi Rocks t-shirt is new. The necklaces and the scarf used to belong to my mother. I like colourful clothes, checkered flannel shirts and Converse basketball shoes. Mike Monroe and Andy McCoy have a great style. In three hours I'm going to see them playing with their band Hanoi Rocks at Tavastia club."
