I hear you're driving someone else's car now... She said you came and took your stuff away - All the poetry, and the trunk you kept your life in - I knew that it would come to that someday... Like a sad hallucination, when I opened up my eyes, the train had passed the station, and you were trapped inside... Yet I never wonder where you went, I only wonder why Lyrics to "Caroline" by Concrete...
Were it not for "shuffle mode" on the iPod in the car, I might have completely forgotten several really great albums. Three that I've recently rediscovered: Kick by INXS, Bloodletting by Concrete Blonde, and Nothing's Shocking by Jane's Addiction.

Last Friday, Jasmine and I saw Leonard Cohen play. That’s not a sentence I ever expected to type. It was an amazing show. Everything conspired against it: lousy cavernous venue, weird crowd, show boating instrumentalists. But it was awesome. And I was transported back to the first moment I ever [...]

While Mr. Dunphy’s upcoming Friday Mixtape is one of the most esoteric tributes to All Hallow’s Eve that you will ever see, I chose a more commercial (read: lazier) path to celebrating my second-favorite holiday of the year. Now dance, you fuckers. Ministry – Everyday Is Halloween I hope your dancing shoes are comfortable, because this [...]
I watched Adventureland last night. The director's previous work, Superbad, was a bawdy comedy. This one is a much more low key story of awkward young love at a theme park, peppered with comedic sets by the likes of Bill Hader and Kristen Wiig. It is certainly worth your time. The movie is set in 1987. The most notable nod to the 80s is the heavy use of 80s tunes. The theme park workers are tormented...
Several years ago, to my shame, I got hooked on the McDonalds Monopoly Game. My friends and I were eating in there daily to share tokens and hopefully bag that. [...]
Marge Simpson's Playboy pictures are out now. Everyone was in search of these pictures as this is for the first time that a cartoon character is. [...]
I'm still blogging everyday under the self-imposed iron thumb of nablopomo , monthly theme of "Haunted." My brain generates earworms as some sort of mental self-torture. It is insanely easy for something, somewhere to remind me of a song that plays over and over and OVER in my restless, seething brain. Today, for example, we saw the neighborhood cat who likes to sit in his front lawn as the...
As a testament to just how out of sorts I’ve been for the entire month of September I totally missed the sites big birthday. WTF? Anyhow. Ninebullets.net turned three years old on September 21st. This year saw the addition of Kasey Anderson and RomeoSidVicious as writers as well as the addition of a monthly podcast. All of [...]
From The Long Goodbye: There are blondes and blondes and it is almost a joke word nowadays. All blondes have their points, expert perhaps the metallic ones who are as blonde as a Zulu under the bleach and as to...

There are songs in this world which get into my head & swim around like a plague... but a good plague; in a way. Songs that make me feel like I'm seeing another world, living in another place so wholly that when they end & I snap back into reality it's very disconcerting. These songs I classify as songs that make me crazy. It's a very real feeling. Due to this, songs that affect me in this...
