No free beer edition South Tyneside Independent Alliance councillor Ahmed Khan spotted at the Roland Gift (Fine Young Cannibals) gig this afternoon in South Shields Bents Park. Someone on another local blog suggested that one of our councillors needed a good wash and a change of clothes - oops! (Wrong picture) What’s being talked about here then - [...]
Roland Gift entertains for free in South Shields Well I quite enjoyed Roland Gift’s offerings in the Bents Park, South Shields this afternoon, despite the fact that I wasn’t exactly a fan of the Fine Young Cannibals. He managed to draw a decent crowd, which was not a mean feat considering that rain threatened and there [...]
Despite how much I loved Wolf Parade’s 2005 debut LP Apologies To The Queen Mary, their hugely anticipated sophomore effort, 2008’s At Mount Zoomer, remained untouched and unzipped on my desktop for two months before I listened to it. What really works best to protect...
MUCH of the last decade has been taken up with Dolly re-establishing her bluegrass reputation with albums which reached back to the simple ethos of life in her Smoky Mountain home.
At Mount Zoomer - June 17, 2008 The July 31st Wolf Parade show at Terminal 5 in NYC is either sold out or close to it, so they added another one on August 1st. For tickets you can check their...
The fun starts today! I’m sitting here listening to the rain gently tapping at the window and finding it hard to believe that we are now in June, it’s summertime yay! Yes, I know it’s difficult to believe when you look at that grey sky and watch the rain falling. Here in South Shields we are about [...]

First off, if you're a fan of They Might Be Giants but have not yet bought their most recent children's album Here Come the 123s, what the hell ya waitin’ fer? It's awesome. [...]
Remember Junior Senior? Jeppe (aka "Senior") has recorded, of all things, a cover of Fine Young Cannibals' "Johnny Come Home". And it's not half bad. You can d/l it over at his barebones Myspace page . w00t
