UKIP MEP Mike Nattrass has raised the volume over EU plans stopping people listening to loud music on their mobiles and MP3 players. The West Midlands MEP has ghetto-blasted the EU over plans which will strictly limit noise levels on music players. If Brussels bureaucrats get their way, future music devices will have to be manufactured to restrict noise levels. But Mr Nattrass believes the EU is once...

I went OMG (sometimes you gotta talk their language) you've never heard of Dread Zeppelin? So I proceeded to educate him and soon the whole concept of the band was blowing his mind. Anyway I mentioned them briefly back...

Apparently a moderately successful career was killed by one video, and this is it. What were all involved thinking?...

Who would win in a dulcet toned grudge match between Judy Garland and Otis Redding? What voice would crack first if Stevie Wonder took on Dolly Parton? The musical minds over at NPR are asking those questions with their new “50 Great Voices” online vote. Pooling together more than 100 historic sets of vocal cords from [...]

She showed up an hour late to present at an awards show, heckled a musical legend and had a foul-mouthed near-dust-up with a recording executive. Not a bad afternoon for Amy Winehouse. Organizers at the Q Awards last week paid thousands for the best Grosvenor House Hotel suite to make sure the troubled star arrived to present on time. It still didn't happen. Nearly an hour late, she finally burst...

It had been planned for the veteran group to reunite – possibly without singer Robert Plant – last year, but the idea was later scrapped and the bassist went on to join super-group Them Crooked Vultures with Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl and Josh Homme from Queens of the Stone Age, a move John Paul admits wouldn’t [...]

This week, amid some hullabaloo over whether they’re actually “ good ,” Creed released an album. More significant to us was the return of singer Scott Stapp and his remarkable chest. In baring his Christian nipples, Stapp carries on a long tradition in music, one not defined by the strategic placement of gym socks, but the manifold expressions of strength, vulnerability, and the...

It has happened. Neil Diamond has gotten onstage and performed with the Neil Diamond cover band, Super Diamond . Yes, the Neil Diamond: “Cracklin Rosie”, “Sweet Caroline”, “America”. Now wait just a fucking second here, you may say. This isn't something that's even possible, it makes no sense. If Neil Diamond got onstage with a Neil Diamond cover band, the Earth...

After Roger Daltrey let slip this week that his legendary band The Who is in line for a dedicated version of Rock Band, we started wondering: Who’s next? From The Rolling Stones to Radiohead, there’s no shortage of candidates for the next band-specific edition of the supremely popular videogame. (After the Who, of course.) Just remember, this [...]
