Oh, Battlestar Galactica. I was so looking forward to The Plan. I mean, what's not to love - it's the BSG story, but from the point of view of the Cylons!! How could this go wrong? Here's how - they could make it slow, and without purpose. Rather than trying to tell its own story, The Plan is basically nothing more than short scenes which could have just as easily been outtakes from previous episodes....

Did you miss the series premiere of V last week? If so, no need to despair, because it's on SlashControl and I've embedded it below. The show scored good ratings , and Jason had great things to say about the premiere, noting some similarities to Battlestar Galactica . He was also glad to see how the writers updated the storyline from the classic 1980s miniseries. "I wasn't sure how they could...

The latest thing from my childhood to get the remake/reboot treatment and make me feel my age is V ... Alion ships turn up, smiley happy alions say hello can we have some water and a cup of sugar and we'll give you some nice alion stuff in exchange, look we are nice and we have uniforms for people who want to join our fan club but wait oh no they might be bad alions after all... As usual Great Britain...

I hate this episode. If I have watched it beyond its initial airing, I would be surprised to learn it. Anytime eugenics is dealt with in any sort of positive light, I get a squeamish feeling. Here it all hinges on one exchange between la Forge and a scientist with show runner and final draft writer Michael Piller’s comments in a making of book that kill it for me. “The Masterpiece Society”...

I watched the latest episode of Stargate Universe this morning. For those of you that don’t know, it’s a sequel to Stargate Atlantis, which was a sequel to Stargate SG1, which itself was based on the 1994 film of the same name. At first, I thought the show was simply Battlestar Galactica for those suffering from [...]

Those serious ladies of Battlestar Galactica are playing it for laughs in November when both Tricia Helfer and Katee Sackoff guest star on two CBS sitcoms. First up it’s Tricia Helfer on the November 16th episode of Two and a Half Men. In “The Moustache Attachment,” Chelsea (Jennifer Taylor) invites her beautiful college roommate, Gail (Tricia Helfer) to stay at the house while she...

Scratch from your minds images of gaudy balloons throwing powdered red stuff into the clear blue skies of California. Cross out images of Robert Englund calling “Mouuusey! Where are you Mousey'” Forget those special effects that were not very special or effective. Welcome in ‘V’ – the re-imagining. A “Re-imagining” is a comparative newcomer to the world of...

Comic book fan Shel Dorf founded the Comic-Con convention in 1970, and at the first event just 300 people showed up. This year, at the Comic-Con International event in San Diego more than 125,000 comic book, sci-fi, and video game aficionados showed up to rub shoulders with their heroes and get a sneak look at upcoming movies, TV shows and games. Though Dorf is said to have lamented the "Hollywood"...

Here are five things that excited me over the past week! . 1. Suckin' It For the Holidays by Kathy Griffin - Her latest television special on Bravo, Balls of Steel, may not have been up to her usual standards, but her new "Christmas" CD, recorded live in New Jersey, is a lot of fun. Within, she trashes the Housewives, tells dick jokes, talks about her mom...pretty much what you'd expect from...

Last night's episode of "FlashForward" took one character off the board while introducing another in the form of Blue Hand associate Jeff Slingerland, played by Callum Keith Rennie of "Battlestar Galactica" fame. It's a tradition that fans of the ABC series should get used to, as executive producer and showrunner David Goyer told MTV News [...]

You've got to wonder if Dr. Nicholas Rush (Robert Carlyle), the single-minded genius on Syfy's SGU: Stargate Universe , is on the right show. Maybe he hopped over from Caprica before anyone noticed and now it's too late. However it happened, Carlyle's character is so morally ambiguous we don't know if we can trust him. Looking at his deeds just in the six episodes that have aired so far, you really...

In the US/UK: Sometime in 2010 Available from Amazon.co.uk on BluRay import The Cylons were created by man. They evolved. They rebelled. They look and feel human. Some are programmed to think they are human. There are many copies. And they have a plan. Unfortunately for them, it's rubbish, and they can't make up their minds about what to do. At least, that's what Battlestar Galactica: The Plan appears...

"The Cylons were created by man. They rebelled. They evolved. They look and feel human. Some are programmed to think they are human. There are many copies. And they have a plan." It ain't over till it's over. But, these days, the fat lady can be persuaded to do an encore with alternative lyrics. Months after the re-imagined Battlestar Galactica (hereafter BSG) bowed out after four feted seasons,...
