Sometimes the 1980's just confuse us, though most of us here were alive for the better part of the decade. Take NBC's Bosom Buddies , a show whose premise was that Tom Hanks and Peter Scolari dressed up as women to live in the aptly named Susan B. Anthony hotel. Why? Cheap rent. We guess it beats pretending to be gay. The show is also interesting because neither Tom Hanks nor Peter Scolari were particularly...

...the sitcom best known for starring Tom Hanks, but likable for more than a few reasons besides. Trivia: The woman Peter Scolari meets and goes out with in these scenes is played by Rita Wilson, who seven years later would marry...Tom Hanks. I really liked this show...

"The Tonight Show" raids its vault for oldies but goodies! As a result of the writers' strike, NBC plans to air so-called "vintage" episodes of "The Tonight Show with JAY LENO " starring box-office stars JENNIFER ANISTON , MATT DAMON , JOHNNY DEPP , TOM HANKS and JULIA ROBERTS this week. The recycled shows will show the stars in their very first headline appearances: Jennifer and Johnny in 1995, Matt...

First up, Blue Planet from the BBC. The only trouble with watching documentaries on the BBC is that once you get used to the level of quality they provide, you'll never go back to watching one of those subpar bits from the History Channel. Might be harsh, but it's too true. [...]

The wunderkind hailed as the next Tom Hanks was arrested in downtown Chicago early Sunday morning after allegedly refusing to leave a Walgreens. The next Tom Hanks? What'?? Until I see something as good from him as ‘Turner and Hootch’, and ‘Bosom Buddies', then I will have to say good day, sir!!! [...]

It would seem that sometime last spring, Tom Hanks quietly (as is his wont) jumped on the MySpace train (see his profile here). He joins hordes of celebs who have come before to use the ubiquitous social networking site. One can only assume that witnessing Travis Barker and Shanna Moakler's shoutfest and Courtney Love's stream-of-semi-conciousness screeds, that Hanks said "I need to get me some of...

Um, Uma, hon…? I hate to be the one to tell you this, but I think you're covering the wrong part of your body… Bosom Buddies’ Peter Scolari is playing the role of nipple censor today, as we at Holy Candy thought he could use the high-profile work Next time, perhaps use a more subtle [...]

For those that like their comedy silly, this was one the funniest television series in the 80s. Presented for the first time on DVD, Bosom Buddies – The Second Season continues the madcap adventures of Kip Wilson and Henry Desmond, two characters who partake in the long-standing comedic tradition of cross-dressing. Kip and Henry lost their apartment and the only place they had to turn was the Susan...

Charlie Sheen shines again... but he is a long way from Wall Street on Two and a Half Men. Charlie Harper, the main character on the CBS sitcom Two and a Half Men, is a womanizer, a cad, an alcoholic, a gambler, insensitive, and pretty self-absorbed. He is also the funniest current character on a non-cable sitcom.Played with not so surprising ease by Charlie Sheen (you can pretty much assume that Sheen...
