You know, the Coens really don't have the best of luck with remakes, which is probably all for the best, since their original ideas usually work so well. I think I'm just about the only person in the world who almost unconditionally liked their take on "The Ladykillers" (it probably helped that I know absolutely nothing about the original), but now they're getting back in the remake game...

It would appear that Matt Damon, Jeff Bridges and Josh Brolin are in talks to appear in the Coen Brothers remake of True Grit, the classic John Wayne film.
