Some time I posted a poem I wrote concerning a blurry childhood memory of my mother sobbing over a stove, the conceit being that I would first give hints that this was going to be a sad, melancholic memoir and then reveal, through some presumably clever alignment of telling detail, that her tears were not from a beef with my father but rather that she'd been chopping raw onions for what she was cooking....
