Today my beloved husband turns 43 years old. This morning before either Leta or the dogs woke up he turned over in bed, rested his head on my chest and said, baby, I want to grow old with you. And I was all, um, that's already happened. Tonight my mom is taking Leta for several hours because I told Jon that for his birthday I'd let him have sex with me. For his birthday last year he only made it to...

It’s yet to be finished, but with these artistic renderings, we get to see inside of the future record holder for the world’s largest ship, a serious competitor for another maritime wonder, Liberty of the Seas. Oasis of the Sea will be a luxurious traveling city, complete with shopping streets, bars, restaurants, an amphitheater the size of a football field. And if this didn’t blow you away, the ship...

It seams to be one of the few paradises on earth, where still exists an important biodiversity with rich and distinct flora and fauna: 37% of Socotra’s 825 plant species, 90% of its reptile species and 95% of its land snail species do not occur anywhere else in the world. I hope they can keep it that way!

The new Nikon SB-900 Speedlights are dropping into stock pretty much everywhere, albeit on allocation. But before you buy, you might want to check this thread for a running update on what the flash shoes the newly designed foot will -- and won't -- fit. Please feel free to add to this list if you find out anything first hand. And remember that they do ship with an AS-21 foot, which can be swapped...

You can't see it but I'm told it is raining in the pictures below - the two bigger chicks braved the weather and enjoyed a nice refreshing shower. I'd imagine the box is starting to get a little stinky. The youngest child (as is often the case) was less keen on a nice clean and stayed inside peering out.

South African photographer (and Strobist reader) Robert Miller, whom you may also know as " Panascape " on Flickr, has been showing up in PIX African Photo Journal so often he should be paying them rent. This was my birthday present from Jon, the definitive monograph of Charley Harper's work , edited by Todd Oldham. I've had this on my wish list ever since it was released, and was so surprised and thrilled when I opened it last week particularly by the fact that he remembered I wanted it so badly. I'm such a fan of Charley Harper's work and see myself going back again and again to the pages of this...

Stone ink gallery Photographer Edward Burtynsky made a formal proposal for a permanent art gallery in the chamber that encloses the 10,000-year Clock in its Nevada mountain. So the consensus is that Jon is totally wrong! wrong! wrong! in his opinion of First Blood. And not only do many of you agree that for its time it was a fantastic action movie, but you also confessed that you, too, had a thing for Sly, and a reader named Michele wrote me (hi, Michele!) to tell me about how she owns an autographed black and white glossy of him. And he signed it, "May all your dreams...
