However, this morning I saw some do-gooding know-it-all twonk called Alasdair Palmer write some bilge about why the NHS should be banned from 'wasting' money on homeopathy. Just for the record, I have used homeopathy in the past and found it highly beneficial and much more effective than 'orthodox' medicine....

From the Times Online (UK): The chief pharmacist at Boots today admitted the company markets homeopathic remedies as effective cures despite there being no medical evidence that they work. Giving homeopathic remedies to patients on the NHS is unethical and a dubious use of public money, scientists and doctors told MPs today. The treatments, which are licensed by the government and offered through several NHS hospitals, have insufficient clinical evidence to support them, they said. The criticisms were raised in an inquiry held by the Commons cross-party science committee to investigate...

The football star was photographed using an inhaler this weekend. Who knew we had anything in common? Me and David Beckham: who'd have thought it? It turns out we have a lifelong affinity. That small plastic object in the pocket, wherever you go. You could reach for it instantly, though you might not for weeks. You tell a few close friends where you keep it, in case of a sudden attack. For those of you following the surprising healthcare reform bill mandate of Christian Science prayer as a medical treatment to be payed for by your taxes... I have good news. That was stricken from the merged legislation. The bad news is that there is currently even more worrisome language in the S.3950 bill. Senator Tom Harkin has introduced language that would essentially require ineffective medical...

With all the swine flu-scare out there, now is a great time for the dealers/practitioners of so-called "Complementary and Alternative Medicine" (or CAM) to shill their wares and prey on a gullible and/or misinformed public. People are scared and confused right now, so what better time to get the word out on some bogus treatment with little-to-no evidence of efficacy or safety? Homeopathy...

As we peasants observe the process of HCR, our attention is rightly focused on hoping to squeeze out the most progressive mandate/regulate/subsidize scheme we can. But some people are also advocating to ensure that the reforms embrace science-based medicine, and it's something I personally support. It's a second order issue, but for the reality based community it's a natural fit. And it's also important...

Homeopathy can prevent, cure swine flu, say homeopaths Influenzinum of latest make must be able to help as a preventative though it's not a fool-proof method. Two or three doses of 200c every dose a week apart will help. I've heard that specifically pyrogenium and Baptisia helps with this epidemic though I've not personally verified this.
