As a physician who has treated thousands of people addicted to alcohol and other drugs, I was appalled by the response of Dr. Brian Day and the CMA (Supporting Insite Unethical, Clement Tells Doctors - Aug. 19) to Health Minister Tony Clement's statement that offering palliative care - such as a place to shoot up lethal drugs - for a treatable disease, addiction, is unethical.
