A devon hospital has revealed that patients no longer have to wait for hearing tests. Plymouth's Derriford Hospital has announced that since June patients needing to be examined for their first hearing aid or those having their current aid reassessed have not had to wait at all.

Derriford Hospital in Plymouth has significantly cut infection rates, health chiefs say. Plymouth Hospitals NHS Trust has seen a 50 per cent drop in MRSA bactaraemias, from 98 cases in 2003-04 to 49 in 2007-08.
