A 15-year-old cancer patient in Britain has successfully undergone a pioneering surgery to rebuild his shoulder using his elbow. Doctors at Leeds General Infirmary had to amputate the arm of Tom Lemm in Pontefract, West Yorks, because of a tumor at the top of it. However, the surgeons created a new shoulder out of tissue and muscle from his lost elbow.

POLICE have launched an investigation into the death of a pensioner at a top Yorkshire hospital after he was allegedly given the wrong drug medication. Musician George Pickard, 71, was recovering from a hip replacement operation at Leeds General Infirmary, but died unexpectedly on Sunday.
