Stevie (as in SteviePics) has a special message for some special people. He says: “Can I say a huge big thank you to everyone who was so kind to me when I came off my bicycle in Evelyn Street (just by Deptford Park) on Thursday evening. I had just lost an argument with one of Lewisham Council’s nastier potholes and was sent over the handlebars only then to collide with a obstinate bus stop....

ATHLETE release their powerful new single Black Swan Song today (November 9) on Fiction. The track is a powerful and moving song about the death of Joel’s grandfather. Joel picks up the story here: “September 1944 in the woods near Arnhem, Holland, my grandfather lay alone and badly wounded struggling to write a farewell letter to his new wife. My grandfather Major John Pott died in 2005...

This is Eric on Monday this week, with Lindsay, welcoming friends from the Bahrain Freedom Movement. Eric is receiving regular visits from the physiotherapist, who has him walking up and down the corridors and even climbing stairs. We're still unsure whether or not he'll be allowed to return home before the weekend, so if anyone is thinking of visiting Eric in Lewisham Hospital, please ring Lindsay...

Visited Eric in Lewisham hospital this afternoon He has been sitting up for much of the day, reading and listening to music. A4 Marlowe Ward, on the fourth floor, with a lovely view of a park, is much quieter than the acute ward at King's, and has only four beds in it. Eric is making good progress, but it will be slow as most bones take about 6 weeks to heal. Old friend from the Press Gallery, Mike...

Skeletal , originally uploaded by zombiecoterie . I started on a portrait commission this morning and got distracted when I couldn't get his nose right and he just looked too young. I think perhaps I've got a bit on my mind at the moment, all about chapters ending and beginning and anxieties about things I can't change. This week's been pretty monumental in terms of changes for me and as September...

Health has been very much on the Plummy Mummy household's minds in the last few weeks. Hubby went for the first stage of his anti-snoring programme....having a deviated septum fixed at Lewisham hospital. As I'm not overly familiar with the layout of Lewisham , let alone the hospital, there was much teeth-grinding and general moaning on my part as I dropped him off and picked him up later in the same...

Hi, mum! So, I've emailed the PALS at Lewisham Hospital and asked about how I take the complaint I've placed against the hospital to the next level, having exhausted the local resolution stage. Here's the letter I got from the Chief Executive, with names changed to protect the (presumably) innocent and comments in sarcastic asides from me. Dear Mr ZombieCoterie I was concerned to hear of your experiences...

A few weeks before I started the final stages of work on the new site, I came across SlickMap CSS . This provided a stylesheet that transforms a nested list — a structured way of presenting the information — into a beautifully rendered graphical layout which makes the information very easy to read. Compare the new sitemap with the one I designed for Lewisham Hospital (still extant at present)...

Where to begin? First off, I've got a new comic for sale, details are over on the Cute But Sad Comics site but I'm sure you all subscribe to that, right? It's the second in the Polaroids from Other Lives series and I've done a lot to make the drawing style more realistic and accurate but that's not what's making me nervous about publishing it. In the first volume, I told a story about a parallel me...
