The Nursing Times have named a retired clinical nurse teacher from Musgrove as one of the top ten of the most influential nurses of the last sixty years. Judy Waterlow Jones, who lives in Henlade, now gives her time to Musgrove Park Hospital voluntarily, but before she retired in 1988 she was one of the Trust's clinical nurse teachers.

Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton has put restrictions in place on some wards to manage an outbreak of viral gastroenteritis (norovirus). As at Wednesday 12th November three wards are closed to new admissions: Eliot, Fielding and Ward 5. Norovirus exists in the community and although not usually serious is very infectious.

Dr Stuart Walker, Consultant Cardiologist at Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton, recently told a meeting about how advances in cardiac care would benefit patients in Somerset. Musgrove Park Hospital, part of Taunton and Somerset NHS Foundation Trust, has installed a floor mounted AXIOM Artis zee⢠interventional cardiac imaging system from Siemens for coronary angiography, angioplasty and Cardiac Resynchronisation Therapy (CRT). The new equipment replaces an eight year old setup and is the second Siemens cath lab at the hospital.
