| Description: | Located in the heart of Cracow, only a few steps from the main square, Hotel Amadeus is a beautifully restored townhouse dating back to the 16th century. The exterior of the building is remarkable, it is richly ornamented in true baroque style, with the Odrowąż family coat of arms, stucco cornices with moulds of arabesques and acanthus leaves. Perhaps the most stunning feature of the façade is the 17th century oil rendition of the Rosary Madonna by Michał Stachowicz that adorns it, as well as the neo-renaissance door below. Inside, the hotel is richly decorated in baroque style, reminiscent of the era of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, after who the hotel is named, with heavy drapery and curtains, ornate antique furniture, chandeliers and gilt framed pictures of the hotels namesake. |
