Early 7.3-liter units performed fine, but the updated 6.0-liter V8 engine was notoriously problematic. That cost Ford dearly and has tainted its tenuous contract with Navistar....

FORT WAYNE » Navistar International Corp. says it will add 200 engineering jobs to its design and engineering center in Fort Wayne by the end of the year. Spokesman Jeff Benzing says the company wants to be sure its diesel engines meet federal environmental requirements set to take effect in 2010.
