Despite getting negative feedbacks for its performance being unable to match its stylish exterior, the current Alfa Romeo 159 will not be replaced until 2012. No one will question the car’s amazing looks but due to its aging, Saab-based platform, it doesn’t have the chops to give out a great performance.

We featured two Detroit scoops in a row (the Maverick Grabber Dual Domes and the Road Runner Air Grabber ), and now we must give Italy some well-deserved Hood Scoop Hall Of Fame recognition here. We can thank Van Sarockin, rogue trebuchet for suggesting the tears-to-our-eyes amazing treble scoop setup that Alfa Romeo installed on the Giulia TZ1 in 1964. But that wasn't the only great hood scoop Alfa...

What you see pictured above is an artist's impression of the Alfa Romeo 159 replacement that is reported to revive the Giulia nameplate as the Italians are swapping their current system of numeric names for more personal ones (e.g. the 147's successor will be named Milano). The CGI, courtesy of Motorionline, is apparently more of a wild guess on...

Filed under: Sedan , Alfa Romeo , Design/Style Motor Trend has posted its best guess of the Alfa Romeo Giulia (née 159). It isn't a bad looking car, but like a previous speculative take on the car, it look like the Mito nose has simply been pasted on another rear end - in this case, that of the Opel Insignia. In MT's image, The commanding squarness of the current car , especially set off by...

Replacing the Alfa Romeo 159 is the all-new model, Giulia. Expect the Giulia, which is seen here in its conceptual illustration, to arrive within the next two years. The new model will be based on a new platform developed by Fiat Auto called the C-Evoluzione (C-Evo), which underpins the Bravo.
