Top 10 Bond cars - Times Online Surely there’s no competition for the Aston Martin DB5? Fast cars and improbable chases have been key ingredients in the James Bond films since the series began in 1962. From modest beginnings in Dr No, when 007 outran his pursuers in a rented Sunbeam Alpine, the Bond car has grown [...]

It would seem that the United Kingdom’s Prince Charles was worried about the environmental impact of his Aston Martin DB5 and decided that he wanted to fuel it with bioethanol. Aston Martin got word of it and took a little preemptive action; they called a company could Green Fuels and the rest, as they say, [...]

Knutsford A collection of toy vehicles, including models of James Bond's Aston Martin DB5 and the car driven by Starsky and Hutch, is expected to fetch more than £10,000 at a sale on July 8. Auctioneers called to a bungalow in Cheshire found it filled with so many Dinky and Corgi toys that it took ten trips by estate car to carry them away.

Heroes are only as good as their rides. Think of James Bond's Aston Martin DB5 (ejector seat!). Wonder Woman's invisible jet (stealth!). Roy Rogers' Trigger (skinned!). So it's no surprise that as Hollywood "reimagines" various action heroes, their vehicles get overhauled, too. They have to keep pace with the state of the art in fanciful awesomeness ... and maybe sell a few toys. Here's a look at...

Frankly, I'm delighted by the enthusiasm on display in today's Fantasy Garage . Certain cars are simply that good. About a decade back I was given a book about Aston Martin DB4/5s by a pistonhead boss. It wasn't a raise, but I was dumb young enough to still be thrilled. As you can imagine, the pages on the DB4 GT Zagato are especially dog eared. Spada's bodywork is immortal -- simply one of the greatest...

PADUA Here’s one that Q didn't make earlier for James Bond: a cardboard version of the spy's Aston Martin DB5. Chris Gilmour, a British artist who lives in Padua, modelled his life-size cardboard DB5 on the one driven by Sean Connery in Goldfinger. It has a “bullet-proof” shield, machine guns, ejector seat and revolving blades that pop out of the hub caps to shred rivals’ tyres. Mr Gilmour, who finds...

Being a Beatles, James Bond and a car-nut the following item was bound to catch my attention. According to Autoweek a platinum-colored Aston Martin DB5 once owned by the late George Harrison is expected to fetch $250,000 to $300,000 when it crosses the auction block in London late this month. The car was built in 1964 and delivered to then-Beatle [...]
