I guess it all started with the Nissan GT-R recently setting an absolute record for production cars (7:25). Now there is a flurry of interest for Nurburging lap records. One of the record-seeking parties is Cadillac, as their new CTS-V just set a new record for sedans, at 7:59.32. Inside Line 's reporting today that GM's killed a convertible version of the hot little CTS two-door. Although to be fair it's hard for us to mourn the loss of a product when we didn't know the General's luxe brand was even thinking of doing a drop-top version of the Cadillac CTS Coupe until we learned of its demise. Still, kudos to the General for the decision because if the convertible version of...

With an LS9 supercharged V8 said to make 567 HP , we know that the Cadillac CTS-V is one swift sedan. But we had no idea just how fast it would be until it recently set a lap time of 7:59.32 on the Nurburgring Nordschleife. That time makes it the fastest production sedan ever officially recorded on the German benchmark race track. Now, just in case you thought GM was just pulling your leg, the General...

A convertible version of the upcoming Cadillac CTS coupe is stillborn, new reports find. With both Infiniti planning a G37 convertible and Lexus an IS hardtop, and the Germans already offering its convertibles in the BMW 3-series drop-top and Audi's A4, it seems Cadillac will miss its chance to battle in the competitive market.
