So I went and had a look at the new Ford Fiesta over the weekend and am wondering whether I will get myself one. Unfortunately there is no ST model, so the top of the range is only a 1600. The car looks really nice in person, except for the interior dashboard, which I think [...]

The anti-car lobby can never win its argument until it begins to understand that here in the West the car is not a tool. It is not a white good. It is not an alternative to the bus or the train. We do not buy cars like we buy dishwashers and toasters. It’s not a decision made on cost or practicality and it certainly has nothing to do with the environment. There was a year when it took me 8 hours to drive from Boston to New York on the day before Thanksgiving (with five people in a Ford Fiesta, thank you very much) because a hay truck had overturn on 91 between Hartford and New Haven. Hay all over the damned road. Hay. Have a lovely thanksgiving. (I have to drive 10 minutes to my in-laws. Such joy. The drive, not the MIL.)

Ford, in its apparent love of mini-sites, has launched a new 2011 Ford Fiesta webpage. Call it premature, but with Ford desperately proving its relevancy to Congress, displaying some of its future rides makes a lot of sense at the...

While Jeremy Clarkson is busy driving the Ford Fiesta of a military landing aircraft, FoMoCo is busy promoting the compact cars U.S. launch. Even though we may be a little more than a year away from seeing the Fiesta on our roads, Ford feels that it should start marketing the car as soon as possible [...]

Finally I’m writing about a social media campaign right here in my own back yard. It’s one that nicely integrates a number of social media spaces, including MySpace, Flickr and Twitter. The campaign is for the launch of the new 2009 Ford Fiesta in Germany. It’s geared (pun intended) to young drivers, who of course [...]

Mining of Ford’s microsite (MICROSITE!) extravaganza - which gave us substantial info about the 2010 Fusion - has proven useful again. Now Ford has released what are at least preliminary data for the 2011 Fiesta - which should be on sale some time in the next 12 months (but when? and why not in the [...]
