There are some old buildings in Stapleton Road. Armoury Square is an unusual place. As well as the Armoury Tavern pub on the corner, there is Armoury Square itself. It isn't really a square, just a short road. At the bottom of the road are these two houses with a bust of someone in between. What's the story with this, I wonder? I've also heard that there is an ancient standing stone in one of the back...

On Sunday i visited the annual Hebden Bridge Classic car & Motorcyle Rally. The 2 day event held on the 1st & and of August is in its 27th Year, amongst the attractions were an Auto jumble, jazz & big bands, and various stalls. The scenic run invovling up to 50 vehicles started from a car park at Mytholmroyd, passed through cragg vale then through Ripponden, Sowerby Bridge, Friendly, Luddenden...
