South Australian Porsche crew Kevin Weeks and Bec Crunkhorn cruised home to win their third straight Classic Adelaide tarmac rally today. The pair crossed the finish line after an almost trouble-free run over four days of competition, needing only to adjust the speed of their 1974 Porsche 911RS to keep comfortably ahead of the opposition. They won by almost one minute and 40 seconds. The result in...

We're not exactly shocked to read that "police say they suspect speed and alcohol were contributing factors in the crash" with this bit of what appears to be staggeringly stupid hoonery. The incident took place Sunday morning in Parklea, a suburb of Sydney, Australia, and the good news is that nobody in the house was injured when the "late model Commodore sedan" got out of control,...

Like most its fans, GM figured that the Holden Commodore-based Pontiac G8 was to good to go to waste. As a result, the struggling automaker has decided to revive the Chevy Caprice (essentially the same as a Pontiac G8) as a police patrol car for the North American market. We think the Patrol car would look better if a Pontiac G8 was used, but that's just us. The Chevy Caprice police car will initially...

We revealed the new Chevy Caprice police car late last night to bravos for the car, but lukewarm reaction to styling. GM's responded with shots of the Corvette-powered, RWD Aussie-built law enforcement-only Chevy Caprice police car wearing its dress blacks. The one issue we had with the new Caprice was that it looked rather pedestrian — especially when compared to the menacing front end of a...

by cam It looks like Holden have managed to sell the Commodore into another niche market since Pontiac was axed. This time it is being sold as a fleet vehicle to the Police Forces in the United States as a Chevrolet Caprice fleet car. Rather than the Commodore it is the long wheel base version. The Pontiac G8 sedan and Ute will live on as the Holden Commodore SS V-Series in Australia with the trademark Pontiac grille. Oh, and there's a wagon. Photos of the badgeless beasts below. We're not sure what hurts the most: the existence of the Pontiac G8 we're never going to get, the Sportwagon we'd have killed for, or the fact that these are all essentially GXP-spec vehicles. Prices range from...

Not many could have predicted that Holden’s plan to use leftover Pontiac G8 hoods for a special edition car would come out this wild. While Holden’s Senator and Grange models sport a different look, Holden’s E Series 2 models built off the Holden Commodore — the G8’s base. The HSV stylists did an admirable job.
