The Suzuki Kizashi is competitive with the other mid-size sedans in terms of performance, but no one is going to buy one unless it's competitive on price. At $18,999 for a well-equipped base model it could be a Sonata-killer. To be fair, both the Hyundai Sonata and Suzuki Kizashi start at under the $19K mark, with the Hyundai coming in at $18,700. And both offer warranties they can claim to be superlative...

According to the latest reports, Hyundai Motor America will not offer a V6 engine in the recently unveiled 2011 Sonata midsize sedan. Of course, there will be a solution: the manufacturer will offer an upgraded version of the 4-cylinder Theta engine with gasoline-direct injection.

The manufacturer of the new 2010 Hyundai Sonata , which was released in Korea today, is justifiably enthusiastic about its new model. If you’re in Europe , expect the Sonata to be named the i40. In the UK, the car will go on sale late next year. Sales in Europe will begin with the estate, followed by the saloon and hatch models in 2011.
