Post-war classic cars at 2009 Classic Motor Show

Cars from the post-war swing period right through to be-finned Goliaths from the Golden Age of Rock ‘n’ Roll are taking pride of place at this year’s Classic Motor Show . From austerity period Ford Populars to jet-age influenced late-‘50s American beauties, the Classic Motor Show fondly remembers the days when a cup of tea cost about a tanner and even Rank Studio starlets saw...

It's a daily driver recently purchased by another neighbor....

GMC Truck Plus Lincoln Premiere: Because You Can! [Down On The Street Bonus Edition]

This is Down On The Street Bonus Edition , where we check out interesting street-parked cars located in places other than the Island That Rust Forgot . Say over here you've got a late-50s Lincoln Premiere that's totally wrecked in front, and over there you've got a GMC truck with a bashed-in rear. You could do the boring thing and part them out or something, but the owner of this fine automobile decided...

1957 Lincoln Premiere

"With Dramatic Newness Everywhere... Lincoln for 1957 is the Fine Car Style Leader." Without doubt the 1956 Lincoln was a flashy car, even for 50's standards, and nobody expected Lincoln to go more extreme for 1957. But they did. The result was a dramatic facelift with massive tailfins and new "Quadra-Lites": vertically stacked double headlamps. With these, Lincoln was one of the...
