The people at Automobile magazine have given the 2010 Nissan Cube its "Design of the Year" award. Although they admit the Cube isn't a beauty, isn't elegant, and not particularly original, they do say it has charm, and that it all just works. I'd have to agree, too. In my review of the 2009 Nissan Cube SL , I said the Cube had a "funky, techie, avant-garde sort of personality."...

Another month, another big sales gain by Hyundai and Kia with the Accent and Rio, respectively. The biggest change from this time last year is the Accent—up more than double from 2008. Kia's Rio has sold nearly 75% more than this time last year. The only car showing a positive gain compared to '08 is the Accent, although the best-selling Vera is only down 6.6% compared to last year. Best selling...

I saw this thing on the road the other day, and I almost threw up a little bit in my mouth. I looks like a two color rubic’s cube put in front of one of those image distorting mirrors. I don’t know why anyone would pay money for that thing. It’s classified as an “affordable [...] No related posts. Related posts brought to you by Yet Another Related Posts Plugin .

This Nissan Cube was located in the Falken Tires booth. With a wide range of sponsors, including Bean Garage , this cube wore 16" SSR Professor wheels wrapped in Falken tires; a Yakima roof rack, Tein lowering springs, and a host of other goodies, including an interior by Auto-Tech Interiors . Unfortunately, the Cube was parked in such a way that it was difficult to get the entire car in the photo....

Us North Americans tend to suffer rather short memories when it comes to cars, and I was reminded of this during my time with the Nissan cube. The cube is, well, different. I remember growing up in the 1970’s, spotting tiny Datsuns, Hondas and Subarus, and these cars looked like they landed from another planet. [...]

Every year brings new cars and the promises of new loves or rekindled affairs. Some, like the 2010 VW Golf TDI , live up to our high expectations. Others do not. What's the most disappointing new car? The Nissan Cube was going to be our jam, offering a comfortable and thoughtfully-designed econobox for the urban driver on the model of the Kei cars of Japan. Instead, the Cube is just a funkier Nissan...
