Parked close by will be a 638-horsepower 2009 Corvette ZR1, a supercharged, 556-hp, 6.2-liter V-8 2009 Cadillac CTS-V and a right-hand-drive Nissan Cube. (The left-hand drive version goes on sale in the United States in the spring.) The ZR1 and CTS-V aren't in dealerships yet and are exclusive to Maynard's Garage.

Mechanical: The 2010 Nissan Cube is mostly conformist, even old fashioned, with its beam rear axle and rear drum brakes. Nothing left to chance in its use of a four-cylinder engine, either: it’s likely to be the 1.8-liter used in Nissan’s Versa compact car but detuned to around 95 horsepower from 122 to reduce fuel consumption. Transmission choices for the 2010 Cube look to be a six-speed manual or...

The preview website for the US-bound Nissan Cube has gone live, complete with a 2010 Ford Mustang -esque long-lead countdown timer. Ninety days out from the LA Auto Show reveal, the website gives us a peek at the Cube's marketing direction, which seems to be a second-year art-school student's wet dream. It's stacked deep with snappy animations, confusing artistic movies, overexposed images and a link...

Filed under: LA Auto Show , Nissan Click image to enlarge and compare to the current Cube It sure looks like it could be. Reader "Uncle Evan" sent us this image, which looks like it's either a scanned PR shot of the next-gen JDM Cube 3 or a good photoshop, perhaps from one of the Japanese buff mags. We're inclined to think it's the latter scenario, and that this photo might have even served as its...

Is it just me, or is the forthcoming Nissan Cube ... just weird? Lots of buzz, and now a site hyping the launch next spring in the U.S. I know the boxy look has been popular among car designers, but the Cube is boxalicious. I'm curious to see what young, eco-affinity types make of it in the marketplace.
