Modifying Opels is the forte of the German tuner Steinmetz, having worked with the brand for the past several decades and having to wait in excess of five years to ultimately design the latest 2009 Insignia saloon. Not unexpectedly, Steinmetz is one of the primary firms to work with the vehicle, making available a series of styling and handling modifications to match the sales opening of the vehicle.

It seems like it was ages ago, but it was only October 24th when I featured a possible Saab 9-5 mule image , one that was shown originally at Auto Motor and Sport . The car was very Opel Insignia on the outside and consequently, in that story the focus was on the interior, which was definitely quite Saaby. . Mailr has re-examined those AMS images, focusing on the exterior. Inconclusive, but interesting....

For those folks who don’t know, Irmscher is a well respected tuning house specialized in Opel vehicles. For over 40 years Irmscher customized almost every car that was produced by the German manufacturer so definitely, he couldn’t miss the new Insignia. The new customization program includes a new front lip spoiler, a new front grille, side sills, a rear trunk spoiler and a new rear air diffuser with
