General Motors Co. just couldn’t take its 2009-2010 Pontiac Vibe being included with Toyota’s recalls sitting down. GM General Motors conducted its own tests to prove that the car can — like other Toyotas –safely be stopped.

General Motors Co. insists on the safety of the Pontiac Vibe, despite its inclusion in Toyota Motor Corp. ’s sticking pedal recall. The 2009-2010 Vibes are affected by Toyota’s recall since they are sister vehicles with the Toyota Matrix produced at GM and Toyota’s former joint venture plant in Fremont, Calif.
