Another month, another big sales gain by Hyundai and Kia with the Accent and Rio, respectively. The biggest change from this time last year is the Accent—up more than double from 2008. Kia's Rio has sold nearly 75% more than this time last year. The only car showing a positive gain compared to '08 is the Accent, although the best-selling Vera is only down 6.6% compared to last year. Best selling...

One Went "Postal" In Orlando... Anyone but me wonder what the heck was/is going on down in Orlando this week? First I hear that some guy has run into an office building in downtown and shot the place up, killing one person and wounding five more. Then I hear that the guy was shooting in the offices of an engineering firm and was an engineer himself. I know that for various product related...

By Mike Stone What makes the powerful American muscle car so strong today is the fact you can get them for a fraction of what a luxury car is priced. While some say the world is dominated by the German and Japanese cars, when it comes to muscle cars the US started the trend and has some of the biggest muscle car fans. There are always good American cars, but the problem has been options and keeping...

This year's SEMA show might have been a bit smaller than in years past, but there were certainly some heavy hitters in the crowd that proved the old "quality, not quantity" adage. Take, for instance, this super-clean, super-fine 1977 Pontiac Firebird. Like the Ringbrothers "Afterburner" Fairlane and the Goodguys Street Machine of the Year 1962 Corvette C1-RS, the look is modern,...

Photo by CarbonNYC via Flickr The LAPD is on the lookout for a man who impersonates a police officer and robs them. He's struck at least four times--twice in the Rampart area and once in Olympic and Pacific--over the last couple of months in various neighborhoods around the city. Usually operating in the late morning or early afternoon, he approaches victims dressed as a plain clothes police officer,...

A 30-year-old woman was arrested by Pasco County deputies Thursday night, accused of driving drunk with two children in the car. After a deputy pulled over a white 1999 Pontiac Grand Am at U.S. 98 and U.S. 301 in Trilby, he noticed a half bottle of Cuervo tequila and several lime wedges in the center console, a sheriff's office report states. Also in the car were two children, ages 9 and 7, according...

Hard to believe, isn’t it. TV.com has put together a list called “Our 10 Favorite TV Cars.” Selections include Starsky and Hutch’s Gran Torino, The A-Team’s “badass” GMC van (can a van ever reasonably be called “badass”?), The Green Hornet’s Chrysler Crown Imperial, and Batman’s winged Lincoln Futura concept car ... but there’s...

Yes, it’s true! What you see in the photos is the car that will hit the U.K. dealerships in January 2010. As you can see, the car will feature Lamborghini Reventon-style swollen nostrils and a Pontiac Trans-Am inspired ducktail spoiler, giving it an aggressive look.

Bryce Nash, a 27-year-old engineer, started with a 1988 Fiero Formula with a dismantled engine, bought on Craigslist for just $500. His real find, located in a Michigan junkyard for $800, was the electric motor and inverter from an electric Chevrolet S10 pickup.

Many fans mourned the death of the Pontiac but they have all but put thoughts of the factory-built Firebird Trans Am behind them. You can just imagine how the news of Lingenfelter Performance Engineering’s decision to resurrect the car based on the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro was received.
