Here's the first report that I've seen on the '09 Suzuki Grand Vitara, and it's from Canada. I suspect that US-spec models will be similar if not the same save for local regulations. Styling appears to be the same, although the grille looks to have a slightly different mesh pattern. The important changes are under the skin. For '09 the GV gets two engine choices. The old 185-hp 2.7L V6 has been replaced...

The info is a bit sketchy at this point, but it looks like the Suzuki Grand Vitara is going to get some mid-cycle upgrades for 2009; two of which are engine-related. Inside Line is reporting that there will be a new 3.2L V6 putting out 230 horsepower and 213 pound-feet of torque. This likely will replace the current 2.7L V6. The other engine I'm guessing will be a 2.4L 4-cylinder engine, which I believe...

Installed a trailer hitch Originally uploaded by zieak For quite a while I have wanted a trailer hitch. Unlike my last vehicle (the 6MC Sonoma) the Suzuki Grand Vitara doesn’t have a bumper you can just put a ball on. I had shopped for a “three point hitch” before for my car but the prices [...]

In a segment dominated by car-based crossovers with only the pretense of off-road capability, Suzuki’s Grand Vitara combines unexpected on-road refinement with an aggressive dose of off-road capability.
