The latest spy pictures of the next-generation Suzuki Swift have been taken in Germany. The five-door hatchback was caught testing in heavy rain. Although camouflage is still a major factor, we can for the first time, see the shape of the rear lights. Thanks Worldcarfans.

A 2011 Suzuki Swift test mule has been spied! (Above is the current Swift.) A bunch of photos can be found at The Motor Report . According to the Australian site, the car is scheduled to debut at the 2010 Paris Motor Show in October. Of course the big question on my mind (and many others') is will it show in the U.S.?

So where are all the three door hatchbacks? Mazda just announced the forthcoming Mazda2 will be sold as a five-door only; one can assume the Ford Fiesta will be the same configuration. If you want a three-door subcompact hatchback nowadays, you'll have to opt for the Hyundai Accent, MINI Cooper, or Toyota Yaris. If you want to step it up in size, you can purchase a soon-to-be-defunct Saturn Astra;...

According to Car and Driver 's recent talk with Suzuki's top engineer, Takashi Nakayama, the next Suzuki Swift is being engineered to meet U.S. crash standards. With that being said, Suzuki is still staying tight lipped regarding whether or not the globally acclaimed Swift will come to the U.S. or not. The people I've talked to at Suzuki have also not been able to say much about whether the Swift will...
