70 but Not in a TRANSIT During the last couple of weeks I have seen and also been overtaken by Vans owned by two well known utility companies. This of course is perfectly ok and if they are driven safely, but the problem is they have stickers on the rear doors saying their maximum speed is 70mph . Whoever has been told to fix these stickers have been miss-informed , and may I just say are leaving the...

THE rate of change in car makers’ priorities over these past few years has been truly remarkable and I think we are in the very early stages of a transition that will see us all driving radically different cars within a decade or so. Vauxhall has just released news of an ecoFLEX version of its Corsa [...]

The chances are that you have seen enough of the advertisements by now to know exactly what happens when you drive a Vauxhall Corsa. You get pursued up the road by a gang of menacing, if reassuringly small, sock puppets, who shout, in the style of celebrating darts players and people on stag nights when the sixth tray of drinks arrives: “C’mon!”

Vauxhall has released a revised version of the Corsa ecoFLEX for 2010, featuring more power, better fuel consumption and 98g’km CO2 emissions. As I think we’ve said before – another day, another Eco car. I just saw an elderly gentleman get out of his car with a rucksack already on his back. What on Earth was going on there, do you reckon? I wondered whether he might have accidentally forgotten to remove his rucksack before he got into the car. But that seems unlikely: even if he had forgotten that he was wearing his rucksack, he would surely have noticed it when he sat down. It must have been extremely...

Perhaps you've read that Forza Motorsports 3 is coming out for Xbox. The game will be filled with all kinds of vehicles, both high-powered and, well, not so much. If you're anything like me, you kinda like using the little underpowered (and not so underpowered) runts in these games (ah, the turbocharged Mitsubishi Pajero Mini on GT3). And yes, Forza 3 will have the subcompacts. You can find the list...

With The Ironman on athletic duty in Inverness this weekend the posse was reduced to the Fit One and Bigman. The original plan had been to do the two bridges route across the Forth Bridge, along to the Kincardine Bridge and back along through Culross. The weather had a different idea. With storm force winds overnight, and forecast to continue into the morning, the Forth Bridge was closed to high sided...

Last week we had a rather special Vauxhall Corsa in to test, which you’ll read about very soon. It was the Corsa VXR – a little hot supermini with a big heart, and a averagely sized price tag of £17,195. That’s not far off a Focus ST with a few discounts, but with the Corsa you’re [...]

Because it is more fuel-efficient and has less emission, the Fiat 500 has replaced the Vauxhall Corsa as the basic learner driver vehicle at the British School of Motoring (BSM). This is devastating for Vauxhall since around 70% of new license holders buy the same model in which they learned to drive.
