Cars from the post-war swing period right through to be-finned Goliaths from the Golden Age of Rock ‘n’ Roll are taking pride of place at this year’s Classic Motor Show . From austerity period Ford Populars to jet-age influenced late-‘50s American beauties, the Classic Motor Show fondly remembers the days when a cup of tea cost about a tanner and even Rank Studio starlets saw...

A car that sunk into mud on a beach 36 years ago has resurfaced, much to the surprise of its owner. The Vauxhall Victor 101 was lost in the mudflats of Brean Beach, Somerset, in 1973. Beach wardens Dave Furber and Pete Williams discovered the car, owned by fishermen Terry Hart, half-a-mile from the shore. Mr Hart said: ''I'm convinced it's my car which I lost in 1973. We were out fishing and the tide...

When I was a kid these cars seemed to be everywhere and, for some reason, virtually every one I remember was either an old English white with red seats or pale green with green seats - so it's a bit of a shame that I can't find a decent picture of one in either of those shades. Never mind, it was a handsome car whatever shade it came in and had something about it. I guess it was influenced by US design...

When you see the title, I bet you think about the Bugatti. No? Maybe you think at the Ferrari Enzo. No, again! It is about the Vauxhall Victor, which is the fastest ever street legal car. It has a powerful 9.3, V8 liter engine of 2,200 bhp and can accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in just 1 second. Yeah, you reach me well. ONE SECOND! Amazing, huh?
